Albert Richard "Dick" Groves, 76, of Rarden, Ohio passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at SOMC Hospice Center.  He was born on September 17, 1948 in Otway, Ohio son of the late Albert Jacob and Grace Ellen Townsend Groves.  On May 25, 1968 he was united to marriage to Linda Fitzpatrick Groves who survives.  Also surviving are daughters, Dena Collins of Rarden and Chasity (Darrell) Newman of Otway; grandchildren, Logan Groves (Ashley Bates), Brady Groves (Tori Montgomery) Shyanne Hoffer (Chris), Mackenzie Vires (Caleb Statham, Ryan Newman and Sherry Jones; great grandchildren, Abbie Collins, Ayden Collins, Luna Cearley and Elanor Hoffer; a brother, Edward (Kay) Groves and a sister, Ellen Fern Thompson.  In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Lee Groves, Sr., Harry Charles Groves and Alfred Ray Groves and a grandson, Corey Collins.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway with Tim Fitzpatrick officiating.  Burial will follow in U.P. Cemetery in Rarden.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
