Alice Carole Hoffer, 83 of Rarden, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2022 at her residence.  She was born on December 23, 1938 in Duke, Ohio to the late Harley Powell and Myrtle Mossbarger Powell.  On December 23, 1956, she was united in marriage to Donald Ray Hoffer who survives.  In addition to her husband, also surviving are her daughter; Cindy and husband Mike Osborne of Rarden; Her son Tim's wife Danning Hoffer of Rarden; grandchildren, Amy (Dan) Shirey of Otway, Haleigh (Andy) Hoffer of West Liberty, Ally (Kyle) Booher of West Liberty and Andrea (Austin) Mathias of West Liberty;  great grandchildren, Daniel Shirey, Kaela (Dalton) Shirey, Dakota Shirey, Tanner Taylor, Charlie Booher, Georgia Booher, Bennett Mathias and Baby Mathias; great-great grandchildren, Kynlee and Luke and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her son; Timothy Joe Hoffer and siblings; George Powell, Dean Powell, Leo Powell, Julia Greene, Marjorie Bolton, Margaret Sayre, Eileen Powell, Thelma Virginia Powell and Jean Holland.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway with burial to follow in Bethel Cemetery in Piketon, Ohio.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
