Bernard Ray Pertuset, Sr, 81, of McDermott, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at SOMC Hospice.  He was born on February 28, 1940 in Lombardsville, Ohio to the late Herbert Jennings Pertuset and Isabell Oppy Pertuset.  On January 31, 1962 he was united in marriage to Nancy Ann Maple Pertuset who preceded in him in death on December 22, 2012.  Surviving are two sons; Bernard Ray (Brenda) Pertuset, Jr of Wheelersburg and James Edward (Debbie) Pertuset of McDermott; one daughter Tracy (Mark) Hoffer of McDermott; eight grandchildren, Luke (Karley), Emily, Seth, Kari, Aaron, Kandi (Vince), Kacy (Michael) and Rebekah; nine great grandchildren, Brayden, Isaiah, Halie, Emmitt, Bry, Bryan, Alyssa, Harrison and Baby Asher; one brother Wayne (Brenda) Pertuset of McDermott and special friend Pat Box.  In addition to his wife and parents, Bernard was preceded in death by one brother Thurman; one son-in-law, Paul Edward Craig and one grandson-in-law, Bryan Biggs.

Bernard was a member of Stoney Run Tabernacle where he was a church deacon.  He was a former volunteer of the Union Township Fire Department.  Bernard retired after 24 years from USEC and was a bus driver for 14 years for the Northwest Board of Education.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday March 28, 2021 at the Henley Baptist Church with Francis Wiley and Danny Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow in Garvin Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway and one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
