Betty Evelyn Steinhauer, 94, of Piketon, Ohio passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Four Winds Nursing Facility in Jackson, Ohio.  She was born October 3, 1928 in Elm Grove, Ohio daughter of the late John and Sylvia Grooms Burkitt.  She was united in marriage for 69 years to John Jacob Steinhauer Sr. who preceded her in death on December 23, 2016.  Surviving are their three children, Candy (Leon) Perdue of Piketon, Jamie (Missy) Steinhauer of Honolulu, Hawaii and John (Janna) Steinhauer, Jr. of Piketon; five grandchildren, Gary Williams, Jr., Amanda (Mark) Galloway, Jackie Steinhauer, Noele (Steven) Young, and Megan Steinhauer; eight great grandchildren, Britty Williams, Sarah Williams, Kaiti Galloway, JC Williams, Jacob Galloway, Brandi Williams, Tyler Galloway and Jake Young; nine great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband Betty was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Delbert, Clarence, Edward, Orville and Harold Burkitt and sisters, Olive Sims and Mary Jordan.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly, Ohio with Bryon Carmon officiating.  Burial will follow in Cotties Corner Cemetery in Piketon, Ohio.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 2.
