Billy Ray Tackett, 74, of Lucasville, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 26, 2020 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.  He was born May 4, 1946 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Malcolm Tackett Jr. and Bonita Goble Tackett.  On April 9, 1965 he was united in marriage to Linda Hoffer Tackett who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Terry (Mary Holsinger) Tackett of McDermott, Jimmy (Jeannie Ponder) Tackett of Lucasville, Joey (Tammy) Tackett of Chillicothe, William Tackett of Piketon, Brian (Kristie) Tackett of Minford, Bonnie (Paul Yoder) Tackett of Portsmouth, Angie (Dusty Williams) of Blue Creek and Sandra (Dustin) Mayhew of McDermott; brothers, Raymond Tackett, Jr. of McDermott, Michael Tackett of Lucasville and Eddie Tackett of Lawshe, Ohio; 20 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Sue Adams of Otway, Bryda Lou Crabtree of Lucasville and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Tackett, great grandchildren, Jacob Tackett and Madison Barrett and three brothers, Keith, Doug and Everett Tackett and a sister, Shelby Jean Puckett.

A small graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2020 at Tackett Family Cemetery on Sedan Crabtree Rd. Arrangements are under the direction of Botkin Hornback Funeral Home of Otway.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Botkin Hornback Funeral Home to help the family with the cost of funeral services.
