Brenda Lee Chitwood, 56, of Piketon, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Adena Pike Medical Center in Waverly.  She was born September 21, 1966 in Chillicothe, Ohio daughter of the late Howard Smith and Darlene McCann Smith of Piketon.  On September 20, 1986 she was united in marriage to Robert Chitwood who survives.  Also surviving are two sons, Cameron (Erykah) Chitwood of Felicity, Ohio and Lafe Chitwood of Piketon; a grandson, Cohen Ridge Chitwood; a sister, Sherry (Mark) Hardman of Piketon; niece and nephew, Jade and Noah Hardman; aunts, Delores Shepherd and Nancy Burkitt; sister-in-law, Jo Hornback; and many other nieces and cousins.  In addition to her father, Brenda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elmer and Daisy Wickham Smith and Earl and Florence Clifford McCann, mother-in-law, Lottie Chitwood and two brothers-in-law, Paul Hornback and Larry Chitwood.

Brenda loved teaching the children at Miracle City Academy in Piketon and working outside in her yard.  She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandson Ridge and her dog Grayson.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Mound Cemetery with Josh Leeth and Alan Newberry officiating.  Family will receive friends on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly.
