Carol Jean Salyers, 71, of Piketon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 surrounded by her family at home.  She was born March 23, 1950 in Franklin County, Ohio, daughter of the late Herbert Chester Mechlin and Edna Pearl Mechlin Martin.  On October 11, 1969 Carol was united in marriage to Hal E. Salyers who survives.  Also surviving is a daughter, Stacy Causey and husband Alex of Ray, Ohio; five grandchildren, Clayton and Josh Newkirk of Latham, Ohio and Aaron, Allison and Grant Causey of Ray, Ohio; a brother, Herbert Mechlin and wife Shirley of New Albany, Ohio; two sisters, Cathy Moore and husband Glenn of Beaver, Ohio and Helen Casey of New Albany; a son-in-law, Brian Monday of Latham and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Monday, brother, Doug Martin and sister, Judy Troup.

Carol was retired after 40 years from First National Bank.  She was of the Baptist faith, and prior to her illness Carol attended Mt. Olive Community Church.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Russ Strange officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sinking Springs, Ohio.  Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
