Chad Allen Gowen, 39, beloved son, brother, father and uncle passed on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at Adena Pike Medical Center in Waverly.  He was born on May 14, 1986, son of Chester and Cindy Gowen of Waverly who survive.  Also surviving are his sons, Liam Nolan Gowen and Sawyer Allen Gowen whom he loved with his heart; sister, Tiffany (Seth) Gowen-Overly, niece, Haygan McDowell and nephew Crew Overly; his maternal grandmother, Flora Burton and many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly.  Chad was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Presley Saige Gowen, maternal grandfather, John Paul Burton, paternal grandmother, Pauline Norton Gowen Cain, paternal grandfathers, Wylie Gowen Sr. and James Cain Sr., uncles, Jerry Gowen, Wylie Gowen Jr., Willard Gowen, Bobby Cain and aunt, Imogene Blair.

Chad was a gentle soul with a huge heart.  He would give the shirt off of his back to anyone he felt needed it.  Chad was a 2004 graduate of Waverly High School and employed at Columbus Equipment in Piketon, Ohio.

A private graveside service will be held at the family's convenience.  Services are in care of Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly.
