Charles David Bailey, 77, of Wakefield passed away at his home Sunday, May 15, 2022.  He was born on June 30, 1944  in Columbus, Ohio to the late Hassel and Mattie (Howard) Bailey.  On April 27, 1967 he was united in marriage to Cathy (Hawk) Bailey who preceded him in death on October 23, 2016.  Surviving are two daughters, Robin Bailey and Frank Wright of Waverly, Ohio and Tabitha (Bailey) Hawkins and husband Terry of Wakefield; four grandchildren, Justin and wife Kayla Bailey of Waverly, Laranda and husband Matt Johnson of Florida, Jerry (Bub) and wife Jen Riley of Washington and Tierra Hawkins of Wakefield; seven great grandchildren, Brantson, Oliver, Grayson, Jasmine, Hunter, Declan and Kayden; a sister, Etta and Gereald Neal of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Marvin and Linda Bailey of Virginia Beach; a brother-in-law, Lowell (Granny) Smith and many nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents and wife Dave was preceded in death by a sister, Ella (Toots) and Don Coddington and brother, Bill Bailey.

Dave was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He worked at Thompson's, Parker Hannifin and Scioto Valley Schools where he retired.

Dave loved fishing, hunting and spending time with family.

The family would like to thank National Church Residence Hospice for the great care they provided and Dave's neighbor Mike Williams for being a godsend and helping their dad. They became good buddies.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Bailey Chapel Cemetery in Piketon, Ohio with Mike Williams officiating.
