Daniel Day, 58, of Piketon, Ohio passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at his home.  He was born November 22, 1962 in Waverly, Ohio to the late Vernon A. Day and Ivy Leslie Day of Piketon.  On August 15, 1982 he was united in marriage to Cheryl Creech Day who survives.  Also surviving are a daughter, Chrystal Day of Piketon; a son, Matthew Day and wife Jennifer of Piketon; three grandchildren, Damien Maggard, Trenton Day and Peyton Day; two brothers, Mark Day and wife Julia of Piketon and Phillip Day and wife Kim of Piketon; a sister, Lisa Beekman and husband Gary of Piketon and numerous nieces and nephews.

Daniel was a retired corrections officer at Ross County Correctional Institute of Chillicothe, Ohio.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Bethel Church of Christ in Christian Union in Piketon with Danny Minton and Larry Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
