Diane Kaye Barley, 86, of Waverly, Ohio passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026 at OSU East Hospital in Columbus. She was born July 7, 1940 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Donald and Nellie McCoy McCarty.

Diane was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She married James Barley on October 2, 1960 and they shared 65 years together. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who could always be counted on. Her family knew they could turn to her for love, support and a healing hand.

Diane loved to cook and had mastered it long ago, bringing wonderful meals and memories to the people she loved. She was a giving person who found joy in doing things for others. One of her special traditions was making Christmas stockings for everyone she cared about, a thoughtful gift that reflected the love she so freely gave.

Diane is survived by her husband Jim; her sons, Aaron (Rhonda), Jonathan and Brandon (Elizabeth); and her grandchildren, Beau, Olivia (Jacob Knight), Tyler and Dylan. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Donna Anderson and Dixie Spehar. She had also left behind a special friend, Karen Smalley, with whom she has spent countless hours in person and over the phone.

Diane was deeply loved by her family and all who knew her. Her kindness, generosity, love of family and caring spirit will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be loved always and missed immensely.
