Dorothy R. Thoms, 98, of Skyline Dr. Waverly, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 22, 2024 very peacefully at home with her family.  Dorothy was born July 15, 1925 in Bramwell, West Virginia to the late Arthur N. Wright and Mary Lucas Wright.

She was united in marriage on July 14, 1947 to Joseph I. Thoms who passed away October 12, 2013.  Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Greg W. Thoms and Joseph A. Thoms, both of Waverly; one sister, Shirley W. Poteet of St. Jo, Texas; nieces, Linda Percy of Ocala, Florida, Carolyn Crabtree of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and a nephew, Chris Poteet of Boston, Massachusetts.

Mrs. Thoms attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and was retired from the Goodyear Atomic Credit Union.  A very devoted Christian, Dorothy led Bible study and prayer groups for women.  She enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling to 15 different nations.  She was a wonderful wife, mother and friend and possessed both great beauty inwardly and outwardly as well as grace, kindness and humility.  She was a wonderful blessing to all and will be truly and deeply missed.  Her faith has set her free for all eternity.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Mound Cemetery in Piketon, Ohio.  Services in care of Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly.
