Ethel Smith, 86, of Waverly, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.  She was born November 19, 1933 in Pikeville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Otto and Alpha Robinson Lankford.  On November 5, 1976 she was united in marriage to Nicholas Smith who preceded her in death on February 3, 2010.  Surviving are three brothers, Walker Lankford and wife Rosemary of New Castle, Pennsylvania, David Lankford and wife Julia of Knoxville, Tennessee and Jack Lankford of San Francisco, California as well as several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents and husband, Ethel was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lankford and two sisters, June Lankford and Marie Lankford.

Ethel was a member of First Baptist Church in Waverly.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Josh Remy.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery on Denver Road in Waverly.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday.
