Irene Holbrook, 100, of Sardina, formerly of Hillsboro passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Close to Home Assisted Living Center in Sardina.  She was born on April 5, 1920 in Breathitt County, Kentucky to the late Otis Hatton and Stella Walters Hatton.  Irene was united in marriage to Mose R Workman who preceded her in death and later to Luther Holbrook who preceded in death.  Irene is survived by one son; Mose Workman of Bainbridge; two daughters, Edna Short of Hillsboro and Carol (Bill) Mitchell of Hillsboro; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren and one brother Herbert (Laura) Hatton of Portsmouth.  In addition to her parents and husbands, Irene was preceded in death by one brother, Stoner Hatton.

A private funeral service will be held at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway with burial in Locust Grove Cemetery.
