Iris Elizabeth Connett Dixon, 94 of Waverly passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Traditions of Bristol Village.  She was born on April 8, 1929 in Topeka, Kansas to the late Raymond Connett and Irma Hill Connett.  Surviving are her children; Mary Elliott of Waverly, Patricia Dadosky of Piketon, John Dixon of Waverly and Shawn (Barbara) Dixon of Piketon; grandchildren, Ashley Dixon, Katie Ward, Benjamin Dixon, Samuel Dixon, Evan Smart, Aaron Elliott, Camryn Elliott and Jacob Dadosky; 7 great grandchildren and sisters; Sarah (Gene) Brushart of Waverly and Jeanette Rowe of San Diego, California.  In addition to her parents, Iris was preceded in death by her siblings; Harry Connett, Winifred Long and Irma Moss and special Aunt Mary Connett.

Iris was retired from Portmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant where she worked for 25 plus years.  She believed that church family was important and enjoyed attending the Waverly Nazarene Church for over 50 years where she faithfully served in her church as a Sunday School teacher.

Funeral service will be 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Nick Pruitt officiating.  Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Burial will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at West Union Street Cemetery in Athens, Ohio.

The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Pike County Outreach Council Food Pantry, 306 Bridge Street, Waverly, Ohio.
