James Vernon Bowman, 61, of Waverly, Ohio passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 at Adena Pike Medical Center in Waverly.  He was born July 27, 1960 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Elbert Vernon Bowman and Velma Elizabeth Cockrell Bowman.  On June 1, 1982 he was united in marriage to Jenny Kelley Bowman who survives.  Also surviving are a son, Amos (Jessica Amber) Bowman of Chillicothe; a daughter, Amee Crossfield of Indiana; grandchildren, Hannah Elizabeth, Cooper Michael and Zachary Douglas; brothers, Daniel Wray Johnson of Waverly and Duane (Marsha) Johnson of Stockdale; nieces, Melody (Randy) Hodge and Edy Johnson; and a nephew, Tommy Johnson.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Rebecca Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
