Obituary

James M. Brown, 84, of Waverly, Ohio passed away on October 7, 2026 at Adena Medical Center in Waverly, Ohio. He was born February 3, 1942, he was the son of the late Harold Madison and Fannie J. Brown. On April 15, 1989 he was united in marriage to Tammie Artis Brown who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Gregory Madison (Debbie) Brown of Uniontown, Ohio and Kurt Eric (Amy) Brown of Akron, Ohio; and granddaughter, Olivia Madison Brown. Also surviving are sisters-in-law, Rhonda Jarrells of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Cindy (Pat) Flohre of Troy, Ohio; and brother-in-law, Dale (Carol) Artis of Hilliard, Ohio; niece, Lindsey (Joe) Webb of New Boston, Ohio; nephew, Derek (Tya) Coldiron of Spring Valley, Ohio and niece, Chelsea (Ryan) Beaty of Conover, Ohio, great-nephew, Oliver Coldiron, of Spring Valley, Ohio and great-niece, Kinsley Beaty of Conover, Ohio.

Jim served in the National Reserves and was a sharp shooter. He worked at Waverly Drug Store, Waverly State Bank as Branch Manager, Bank One Trust Department, Investment Broker at Chase Bank and was a member of Calvary Methodist Church. Jim loved collecting American Flyer Trains, Cars and most of all watching his granddaughter Olivia play softball.

The family would like to thank Adena Pike Medical Center staff and Hospice for their care of Jim during his hour of need.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Dave Burriss officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
