Obituary

Jane W. Knight went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at her home.  She was born March 22, 1936 in Springfield, Ohio to Charles and Dorothy Ware Walters.  On July 29, 1964 she married Jerry D. Knight who preceded her in death on October 1, 2007.  She was also preceded in death by daughters, Kim Wittkugle McEowen and Nancy Clark and three sisters, Patty Comer, Joan Walters and MaryEllen Wright.

Survivors include sons, Randy (Teresa) Wittkugle and Jason (Tona) Knight both of Waverly; daughters, Lynda C. Smith and Beth (Joe) Motes of Waverly; grandchildren, Stacy Hauck, Matthew (Steffy) Smith, Jill (Nick) Garress, Justin (Jessica) McEowen, Micah (Jeff) Aloisio, Jordan (Steve) Hensley, Kami, Carli and Calli Knight, Alicia Hanners and Jack (Carrie) McEowen; 16 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving are brothers, Sonny (Beverly) Walters of New Holland, Dr. Michael (Nancy) Walters of Phoenix, Arizona and Timothy (Alana) Walters of Washington Court House; sisters, Dotti Mounts of New Albany, CJ (Jim) Wilson of Urbana and Kaye (Michael) Humble of Piketon; and several nieces and nephews and countless other friends whom she loved dearly.  She was very close to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a much loved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend.

Jane was a member of the Dailyville Freewill Baptist Church, Waverly; a member of the Pike County Hospital Guild 18 and the Waverly Homemakers Club.  Her many activities included Girl Scout Leader, Trail Riders 4-H leader; she taught Sunday School at McKibben Memorial Church, Dailyville Freewill Baptist and Pleasant Hill Church.  Jane retired as claims and credit manager from K-Mart Corporation.  Her first love was Jesus Christ and her family and friends.

Memorial donations may be made to the Ohio Christian University or Gideons International.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2022 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home with Rev. Carl Dunn and Rev. Pete Dunn officiating.  Burial to follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery on Bridge Street in Waverly.  Family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
