Joey Cassidy, 60, of West Portsmouth, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his residence.  He was born on October 19, 1960 in Portsmouth to the late Ivan Donald Cassidy and Grace Rose Crabtree Cassidy.  On January 23, 1998 he was united in marriage to Janine Mills Cassidy who survives.  Also surviving are three daughters; Kyla Carr of South Shore, Amy Holt of West Portsmouth and Davida Pfau of West Portsmouth; one son, Johnny Smith of Portsmouth; nine grandchildren: five great grandchildren; four brothers, Tony (Debbie) Cassidy of Jamestown, Keith Cassidy of McDermott, Randy (Regina) Cassidy of Lucasville and Mike (Lisa) Cassidy of Lucasville; two sisters, Penny (Steve) Williams of Otway and Shelly (Ryan Rachford) Ealey of McDermott and canine companion Lilly.

Joey was an US Army Veteran.  He loved coon hunting and listening to the dogs give chase.  He spent many hours hunting with his special friends, Ed Crabtree, Marv Carver and his brother Keith.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway with Pastor Ed Crabtree officiating.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Earl Thomas Conley Park, Shelter C in West Portsmouth.
