John Wayne Bryant, 67, of Waverly, passed away on Monday, July 12. 2021 at his residence.  He was born on December 14, 1953 to the late William Joseph Bryant, Sr. and Betty Irene Skinner.  On October 3, 1975 he was united in marriage to Portia Claytor Bryant who survives.   Also surviving are his children; Claudia (Bill Issacc) Waugh of Waverly, Lori (Tony) Rinehart of Chillicothe, John Wayne "JW" Bryant, Jr of Waverly and Kyliegh Waugh of Waverly; grandchildren Ashley Waugh, Chelsi Hertenstein, Casey Hertenstein, Johnecy Bryant, Cody Waugh and numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother William (April) Bryant of Waverly.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Southworth; his grandmother, Mary Irene Skinner; and a grandson, Jaybriyl Bryant.
