John Louis Harris, 74 of Waverly passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.  He was born on February 3, 1950 in Waverly to the late Hugh and Aletha Echard Harris.  On February 17, 1989 he was united in marriage to Marla Sanders Harris who survives.  Also surviving are his children; Sean (Stephanie Suter) Harris of Piketon, Chris (Shannon Osborn) Harris of Piketon and Stephanie Knauff (Clayton Drown) of Waverly; grandchildren, Ethan Copper, William Copper, Hannah Harris, Dixie Harris, Josalyn Colley, JerZee Knauff and Jaxson Drown and his furbabies; Scruffy and Mae "Mau Mau".  In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his first wife  Carol Beabout Harris.

John loved fishing and more than anything he loved his family, his grandchildren were his entire world.

A gathering of friends and family will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly.   The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
