Kenneth Joseph "Joe" Hurt Jr., 43, of Waverly, Ohio passed away Friday, April 30, 2021.  He was born June 17, 1977 in Richlands, Virginia to Kenneth Joseph Hurt, Sr. of Richlands, Virginia and Wanda Hicks Hurt of Waverly.  On March 22, 2018 he was united in marriage to Sarah Roar Hurt who survives.  Also surviving are sons, Austin Joseph Hurt of Waverly and Zachary Schwalbach of Waverly; brother, Donald (Samantha) Hurt; nephews, Teagan, Thalin and Enan; his grandmother, Nell Hicks; step children, Alexis Roar, Kirsten Pfeifer, and Landon Steffy; and many aunts and uncles.  He was preceded in death by a daughter, Katelyn Marie Hurt.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Barry Pelphrey officiating.  Burial will follow at Evergreen Union Cemetery on Denver Road in Waverly. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Pall bearers will be family and friends.  In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
