PFC Lewis "Dean" Smith, 78, of Rarden, Ohio passed away on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.  He was born May 22, 1942 in Jamestown, Ohio, son of the late Ora Edison and Eleanor Kathleen Mustard Smith.  Surviving is a daughter, Sarah Smith and Steve Martin of Otway, Ohio; a grandson, Landen Smith; a brother, Dave Smith of Portsmouth, Ohio and two sisters, Mary Smith of Rarden and Nora Jean Smith Ruff of Hilliard, Ohio.  In addition to his parents Dean was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Smith and a sister, Sue Smith Kubilius.

Dean proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

A private graveside service will be held at Mustard Cemetery at a later date with Bill Ryan officiating.
