Obituary

Lowell T. "Ted" Campbell, 89, of Waverly, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2026, at Pike Adena Hospital. Ted was born on August 10, 1937, to the late Lowell A. Campbell and Mae A. (Humphrey) Campbell. On July 25, 1992, he was united in marriage to Mary Sue Montgomery, who preceded him in death. Ted leaves behind his loving children:  Stewart (Delinda) Campbell of Whiteville, North Carolina; Sherri (Dennis) Cox of Cape Coral, Florida; and Janet Campbell of Waverly, Ohio. He is also survived by his stepdaughters, Brenda (David) Clemons of Latham, Ohio, and Nancy (Scott) Cool of Waverly, Ohio. Ted leaves behind numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who were an important part of his life. Ted had many friends, but a few held a special place in his heart. He especially enjoyed his daily chats with Larry Burton, Al Phillips, and Barbara Pettit. And, of course, no story about Ted would be complete without mentioning his beloved dog, Boo, who was never far from his side.In addition to his wife, Mary Sue, Ted was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Campbell; his infant daughter, Teresa Michelle Campbell; his grandson, John Campbell; his brothers, George, Herbert, and Austin Campbell; and his sisters, Mary Blankenship and Gladys Williams.

Before moving to Bristol Village, Ted enjoyed life on the farm, a place that held a special spot in his heart. He loved his farm, his team of Haflinger horses, and the many trail-riding adventures he shared with Mary Sue. He also enjoyed frequent trips to the Amish produce auction, where he would purchase fresh produce to share with family and friends. Ted had a generous spirit and found happiness in the simple pleasures of life, especially when he could share them with the people he loved. Ted also had a love for the Lord and enjoyed visiting different churches to hear various preachers share the Word of God. His faith was an important part of his life, and he enjoyed listening to different messages and gaining inspiration from the teachings of others. Just as he enjoyed sharing fresh produce with family and friends, he also appreciated the opportunity to hear and reflect on the Word of the Lord. Our dad was quite a character. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to joke around, always ready with a quick comeback or a well-timed zinger for anyone who happened to be in his line of fire. He kept everyone on their toes and continued making people laugh right up until the end. His humor, his stories, and his unmistakable personality will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Ted lived life on his own terms, loved his family and friends, and left behind plenty of memories that will continue to bring smiles and laughter for years to come. And so, here's one for you, Pappy! Ted enjoyed all animals-especially when served with a side of gravy! Rest easy, Pappy. You may be gone, but your jokes, your stories, and your one-of-a-kind spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved you. You will be missed more than words can say.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastors David Hopkins and Mike Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
