Marion Eugene "Gene" Lafferty, 72, of Otway, Ohio passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia.  He was born November 10, 1949 in Chattaroy, West Virginia to the late Marion H and Geraldine Crum Lafferty.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Sean Smith; two brothers, Gregg Lafferty and Mike Adkins; and 5 grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Dottie Smith; son, Eugene Smith; daughters, Regina Lafferty and Glenda Bolling; also his girls, Colleen, Jeri, Ashley, Becky and his boys, Levi, Chuckie, Bobby, Joey, Buggy, Dennis and James; and grandchildren, Aleigha, Jaden, Abel, Faith, Alisa and others.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, April 8, 2022 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway.  Burial will follow in Smith Family Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home.
