Phyllis Jean Arthur Hess, 73 of Otway, gained her Heavenly wings on Saturday, June 24th, 2023.Born September 5, 1949, in Scioto County to the late Amos and Myrtle (Lewis) Arthur.
Phyllis was a graduate of Portsmouth West High School and attended Shawnee State University in pursuit of a degree in teaching.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years; Robert "Bob" Hess, daughter; Rebecca Hess, grandson; Andrew Hess and granddaughter Angel Hess both at home. Brothers; Roy Arthur, Gary Arthur, Larry (Vicky)Arthur, and Doug Arthur Sisters; Anna (David) Harris, Thelma Adams, Rita (Eddie) Ferguson, and Crystal (Michael) Murphy and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by brother Jerry Arthur, sister Fannie Flannigan, daughter Julia Marie Hess, and son Robert "BJ" Hess Jr.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, June 30, 2023 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway with Pastor Rick Ross officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Hoffer Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 29th at the funeral home.

The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
