Phyllis Jean Higgins, 83, of Piketon, Ohio passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at her home.  She was born February 10, 1938 in Pike County, Kentucky to the late Don Dotson and Claudia Jane Hager.  Surviving are a daughter, Julie (Bill) Pekkala of Waverly; a son, Mitch (Diane) Higgins of Piketon; grandchildren, Troy (Brittany) Pekkala, Trent (Katie) Pekkala, Aaron (Kristina) Higgins, Josh (Jacqueline) Higgins, Rachel Herman and Drew Herman; great-grandchildren, Caydince Pekkala, Parker Higgins, Cambree Jean Pekkala, Cameron Higgins and Eleanor Jane Higgins; a sister, Helen Roberts of Delaware, Ohio; a brother, Paul Dotson of Belfry, Kentucky; and a son-in-law, Don Herman.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Mike Higgins and a daughter, Jane Herman.

Phyllis was a retired treasurer of Scioto Valley Local School District in Piketon.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Mound Cemetery in Piketon.
