Rex David Evans, Sr. 74, of Waverly, Ohio passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025 at his home.  He was born on March 30, 1950 in Wayne, West Virginia, son of the late Orvel and Dorothy Faye Chaffin Evans.  On May 21, 1977 Rex was united in marriage to Linda Roberts Evans who survives.  Also surviving are his daughter, Roxanne Evans of Circleville, Ohio: three sons, Rex D. Evans Jr. of Cocoa, Florida, Jack L. Evans of Merritt Island, Florida and Christopher A. (Naomi) Evans of Temecula, California; two brothers, Orville Evans of Franklin, Ohio and Ted (Florence) Evans of Sebring, Florida; seven grandchildren, Justin, Robby, Matthew, Aaron, Carolyn, Timothy and Jacob; and nine great grandchildren, Gabby, Sophia, Noah, Isaac, Kennedy, Gabriel, Kizer, Lucas and Addelyn.  In addition to his parents, Rex was preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Jenkins and Roxanne Gourley.

Rex was a guard at CCI, retiring in 2008 after 36 years.  He also was a member of Open Door Ministries in Chillicothe and was a Waverly High School graduate class of 1968.

Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Rick Evans officiating.  The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
