Ronald Lynn Gecowets, 78, of Waverly, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his home.  He was born February 23, 1945 in Defiance, Ohio to the late Ralph and Ruby Musselman Gecowets.  On June 25, 1966 he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Gecowets who preceded him in death on July 23, 2016.  Surviving are his children, Brad (Maria) Gecowets of Dayton, Ohio, Matt (Alicia) Gecowets of Waverly and Mandy (Jeff) Sequin of Indianapolis, Indiana; grandchildren, Max and Mason Gecowets, Justin and Kyle Alvarez, Macey, Jace, Marley and Jacob Gecowets and Sadie Sequin; brothers, Jerry (Mary Lee) Gecowets of Urbana, Ohio and Norm (Jeanne) Gecowets of Defiance.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Dave Burriss officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2024 and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
