Obituary

Rose Irene Slone, 80, of Peebles, Ohio passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021 at her home. She was born May 5, 1941 in Morgantown, Ohio to the late Carl Hodges and Thelma Morgan Hodges.  On February 16, 1960 she was united in marriage to Denver Slone who preceded her in death on December 7, 2020.  Surviving are a daughter, Debra (Keith) Boothe of Peebles; a grandson, Jason (Kathryn) Boothe of Peebles; a granddaughter, Jennifer (Rick Jr.) Williamson of Chillicothe, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Noah (Deanna) Boothe, Elayna VanHoy and Haylee VanHoy; a sister, Shirley Allred; brothers, Rick (Cindy) Hodges and David Hodges; and a sister-in-law, Polly Combs.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Slone; a brother, Michael Hodges and two sisters, Loretta Markley and Betty Street.

Rose was a founding member of Horizon Sovereign Grace Church.  She enjoyed shopping and loved cooking and her family.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 3, 2022 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Jason Boothe officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery on Denver Rd.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
