Roselea "Rose" Strickland, 98, of Otway, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in McDermott.  She was born on May 21, 1924 in Otway to the late Charlie Ross and Bertha Riley Ross.  On May 19, 1944, she was united in marriage to Burlin Robert Strickland who preceded her in death on August 1, 2015.  Surviving are her children; Robert (Sharon) Strickland of Otway, Kenneth (Dorothy) Strickland of Otway, David (Cheryl) Strickland of Otway and Alice (Richard) McDowell of Lucasville; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and sister-in-law, June McCleary of Stockdale.  In addition to her husband and her parents, Rose was preceded in death by a daughter; Glenda Carol Strickland; two great-great grandchildren and her siblings; Burton Ross, Alton Ross, Harland Ross, James Ross, John Ross, Charles Ross, Ollie Ross, Rouie Spires and Helen Stephenson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Rarden Baptist Church with Pastor Alan Rose officiating.  Burial will follow in Old Hoffer Hill Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
