Ruth Rosalie Barth Slagle, 87, of Waverly, Ohio passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.  She was born December 13, 1936 in Vinton County, Ohio to the late Rev. Harry M. Swart and Grace Anna Peters Swart.  On June 1, 1957 she was united in marriage to Rev. Robert L. Barth who preceded her in death on June 26, 1993.  On October 14, 2002 she was united in marriage to Waldon Durbin Slagle who preceded her in death on February 24, 2009. Surviving are her children, David (Janet) Barth of Chillicothe, Ohio, Daniel Barth of Denver, Colorado, Mark (Debby) Barth of Plain City, Ohio and Lisa (Kevin) Newsome of Waverly; grandchildren, Joshua (Joy) Barth, Jeremy (Patty) Barth, Jessica (Chris) Stupski, Danny Barth, Linsey (Kyle) Carter, Kayla (Thorn) Lee, Alyssa (Austin) Manges, Andrea (Paul) Dagnall and Andy (Jacklynn) Trimble; and 24 great-grandchildren.  In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by brothers, Luster Swart, Marvin Swart and Bob Swart; daughter-in-law, Lanie Barth; and a grandson, Levi Barth.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at New Covenant CCCU in Waverly with Rev. Gary Heimbach and Dale Reed officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the church.
