Ruth Olivia Carey, 76, of Piketon, Ohio passed away Sunday, January 11, 2026 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born December 1, 1949 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Anthony and Ada Dailey.  On January 15, 1982 she was united in marriage to Richard Carey who survives.  Also surviving are a brother, Edward Dailey and a brother-in-law, Ramsey Carey; along with many nephews and nieces.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her adopted parents, Charles and Lea Miller; and her sisters, Judy, Rose, Shirley, Betty, Jean, Darlene and Patty.

Ruth was a secretary for Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Waverly.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Euggle Robertson officiating.  Burial will follow in West Union Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
