Sheila Ann Mahaffey, 78 of Xenia, passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.  She was born on August 31, 1946 in Vinton County, Ohio to the late Sherman Thatcher and Rhoda Richards.  On January 11, 1964, she was united in marriage to Chester Wayne Mahaffey who preceded her in death on November 18, 2024.  Sheila is survived by her children; Kevin (Donna) Mahaffey of West Portsmouth, Brian (Dana) Mahaffey of Xenia and Lisa (Jason) Howard of Xenia; grandchildren, Jessica (Todd) Wyman of West Portsmouth, Cynthia (Jon) Marshall of Xenia, BreAnn (Danny) Dotson of Xenia, Shawna (Kalob Hudgel) Mahaffey of Xenia, Jessica Lynn Finelly of Florida and Little Kevin Stratton of Tennessee; great grandchildren, Owen Wyman, Anna Wyman and Blakelee Dotson; and siblings, Carolyn Pennington, Sherman "Junior" Thatcher and Roger Thatcher.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Thurman and a brother, Donnie Thatcher.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway with Pastor Ricky Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
