Thomas Edward Nigh, 77, of Otway, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024 at the VA Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born February 22, 1947 in Springfield, Ohio to the late William and Viola Nigh. On September 1, 1973 he was united in marriage to Linda Singleton Nigh who preceded him in death on May 24, 2021. Surviving are his children, Jason Nigh of Otway, Ohio and Andrea (David McCroskey) Nigh of Portsmouth, Ohio; grandchildren, Mariah Conley, Clara Wilson, Madison Nigh, Molly (Greg) McCoy and Miles McCroskey; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Patience, Rayden and Nova; many nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his siblings, William Nigh, Eileen Cook, James Nigh, Mary Nigh, John Nigh and Donald Nigh.

After retiring from Springfield Community Hospital, Tom enjoyed a quiet life on the farm in Otway. Tinkering on small projects, collecting stamps, listening to music, and completing word find puzzles we some of the hobbies he enjoyed. He was a member of New Heart Community Church, where he served as Sunday School teacher and Superintendent. His recent years were spent living at the VA medical center, where he liked to share family pictures, jokes, and funny faces with the staff.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2024 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Otway with Taylor Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Moore's Chapel Cemetery.
