Virgil "Buck" Blankenship, 72, of Piketon, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe.  He was born February 5, 1951 in Piketon, Ohio to the late Virgil Lee and Lela Belle Blankenship.  On October 17, 1970 he was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Locke Blankenship who preceded him in death on June 14, 2017.  Also surviving are his children, Amy (Chris Schneider) Parsons of Waverly, Emily (Paul) Remington of Waverly and Jarrod (Rhiannon) Blankenship of Piketon; grandchildren, Drake (Tiffany) Remington, Maddy Parsons, Abby Parsons, Logan Remington and Nolan Blankenship; and siblings, Donna Thompson, Terry Blankenship, Barbara (Dennis) Owens, John (Susie) Blankenship, Gene (Terri) Blankenship and Charlie (Linda Thomas) Blankenship.  In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Blankenship.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 16, 2023 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly.  Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
