William Joseph "Bill" Bloss, 93, of Waverly, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 9, 2022 at his home.  He was born June 28, 1929 in Huntington, West Virginia to the late Garland and Naomi Bailey Bloss.  On January 27, 1951 he was united in marriage to Betty Cantrell Bloss who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Charles Randall (Leigh) Bloss of Pike County, Kimberly (Clarence) Britton of Waverly and Douglas Bloss of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; grandchildren, Joel (Syvannah), Adam, Amanda, Tona (Jason), Nathan (Amber), Evan (Brooke), Ryan and Jordan (Katie); and 13 great-grandchildren, Kami, Carli, Calli, Zoe, Aria, Elias, Connor, Truitt, Saylor, Alyssa, Weston, Hudson and Braden. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, William Joseph Bloss, Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Raegan Bloss; four brothers, Donald, Carl, Gary and Earl Bloss; a son-in-law, Robert Cook; and a daughter-in-law, Connie Coffman.

Bill graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston, West Virginia and retired after 38 years from Martin Marietta in Piketon.  He was a proud 50 year member of First Baptist Church in Waverly where he served in many capacities such as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and other administrative positions.  He was a dedicated family man and he loved the outdoors especially golfing, hunting, fishing and archery.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Botkin Hornback Funeral Home in Waverly with Pastor Josh Remy officiating.  Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery on Denver Rd.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
